Sweet Success! Prosper 'Pie-A-Doc' Event a Hit for Crohn's & Colitis Foundation
What happens when you combine a fantastic cause with a group of good-natured doctors? A whole lot of fun (and a little bit of pie)!
The Cook Children's - Prosper Gastroenterology team recently took one for the team – literally! – in our "Pie-A-Doc" event on April 17. Employees generously donated to receive a pie that they could splat onto our incredible physicians, all in support of the amazing Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. The team successfully donated around $2,000 to the foundation.
We were thrilled to have the enthusiastic participation of our very own LaQuatre Rhodes, D.O., Tony Anani, M.D., MPH, MBA, and Vera Okwu, M.D. They showed their unwavering commitment to their patients and the community.
Dr. Rhodes shared just how important this cause is to them, explaining that the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation provides vital donations and support that directly benefit Cook Children's gastroenterology patients.
“It meant an opportunity for us to be able to give back to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, which does a lot of great things for the patients we care for,” Dr. Rhodes said. “So we did it in fun and in support. We are happy to do it!”
