5 Ways You Can Help During The COVID-19 Crisis
We live in unprecedented times, but we take comfort in knowing we are truly all in this together. We've been extremely touched and honored by the outpouring of support we've received from our community. Thank you to all of you who have asked how you can help us.
You have always been there for Cook Children's and we know you want to help us now more than ever. During COVID-19, your donation will directly impact the patients and families at Cook Children's.
Here are 5 quick ways you can help:
1. Donate to our Children's Fund
No day at Cook Children’s is the same. The needs of our patients, new research, emerging technology and growing programs all mean one thing: We are constantly changing. The Children’s Fund within Cook Children’s Health Foundation gives us the flexibility to meet and fund these changing needs.
Your donation to the Children’s Fund provides the flexibility to assist in areas of greatest need. Click here to learn more.
2. Donating New Books, Coloring Books or other Items
Our biggest needs at this moment are single-use items, including coloring books with crayons, markers or colored pencils, small and medium size Lego kits for girls and boys of all ages, card games for all ages, small art or sticker activity pads, Barbie® dolls, Hot Wheels® and anything superhero-related. Visit our Amazon wish list to order online and have the gifts sent directly to Cook Children's.
3. Give Blood
Give hope, give blood to people in need, give life to your community. Find local blood drive near you at Carter BloodCare. Discover how today. Click here to learn more about Carter BloodCare's COVID-19 and its blood supply and here to schedule an appointment..
4. Provide a Meal Card to a Family in Need
At a time when parents are at high risk of not taking care of themselves because their child has been newly diagnosed, a meal card both fills a basic financial need and encourages parents to take a break, get some nourishment, and make sure they have what they need as well. Find out how you can contribute here.
5. Mail letters or cards of encouragement
To send an encouraging word to our front line caregivers throughout the system, please send to the following address and we will hand deliver to the appropriate department or person:
