Kids test their skills with PGA Tour
PGA Tour golfers from the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial were at Cook Children’s for the annual Bedpan Open, an indoor party for patients who test their putting skills on the elaborately decorated course. The holes are created by the Child Life department and are imaginatively designed to use bedpans as the hole. PGA Tour players Dustin Johnson, Mark Wilson, Sean O'Hair and Bo Van Pelt helped the patients navigate their way through each golf hole.
Johnson, one of the world's top-ranked golfers, wanted to do something special for Cook Children’s. He pledged to donate $500 for every birdie (or better) that he makes during competitive play this week, in recognition and support of the medical center and its patients.
