Cook Children's Hosts Kangaroo-A-Thon
This week, the Cook Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) hosted a Kangaroo-A-Thon to raise awareness and encourage parents to practice #KangarooCare, which involves placing a baby directly on a parent or caregiver’s chest. Skin-to-skin contact promotes warmth, bonding and overall well-being.
Kangaroo Care offers many other advantages, including temperature regulation, stable heart and respiratory rates, improved weight gain, increased parent confidence and more!
To add to the festivities, Peaches the 6-month-old joey hopped by to take photos with our employees and patient families!
