                        <title>Cook Children&#039;s Celebrates Juneteenth</title>

Everyone participated in a Freedom Walk, or 2.5 laps around the Atrium, and enjoyed music, arts and crafts, snacks and giveaways.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>The event was modeled after “Grandmother of Juneteenth” Opal Lee's annual Walk for Freedom, a 2.5-mile walk that serves as a reminder that it took 2.5 years after the Emancipation Proclamation for the news to reach South Texas.&nbsp;</span></p>]]></description><category><![CDATA[Trending,Juneteenth,patient event,Child Life,child life department,child life specialists,Child Life specialist]]></category>

PGA players Tom Hoge, Matt Wallace,&nbsp;</span>Dylan Wu and Jackson Suber<span>&nbsp;were on hand to meet patients and bring some cheering to the competition.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:left;"><span>And keeping with the lighthearted theme, each hole has&nbsp;</span>a&nbsp;bedpan&nbsp;at the end – that’s why it’s called the Bed Pan Open!</p>]]></description><category><![CDATA[Bed Pan Open,golf,patient event,Cook Children&#039;s,Trending]]></category>

                        <title>Patients Celebrate Easter at Cook Children&#039;s</title>

Patients and their siblings participated in our variety of festive activities at our vibrant Easter wonderlands.</p><p>Colorful Easter eggs were hidden throughout the Medical Center Atrium at Prosper. In Fort Worth, children filled their Easter baskets with all kinds of goodies. Arts and crafts stations were set up, where children could create their own Easter-themed masterpieces.&nbsp;</p><p>The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the visit from the Easter Bunny himself. We had a spook-tacular time celebrating in many ways:</p><ul><li><strong>Beetlejuice-Inspired Haunted House:</strong> Our Child Life Zone at Cook Children’s Medical Center – Fort Worth was transformed into a thrilling haunted house inspired by the iconic movie, Beetlejuice. Young patients were involved in creating this spooky experience, and they even joined in the fun to scare our staff!&nbsp;</li><li><strong>NICU's Cutest Costumes:</strong> Our tiniest patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit celebrated their first Halloween in style! Families dressed their babies in adorable costumes, including a firefighter, a skeleton, and even a little Harry Potter!&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Patient Treat-or-Treating Event: </strong>Our patients and their families at Cook Children’s Medical Center – Fort Worth and Cook Children's - Prosper went trick-or-treating and our employees showed off their Halloween spirit by dressing up in creative costumes!</li></ul>]]></description><category><![CDATA[Cook Children&#039;s,patient event,Halloween,Trending]]></category>
